Hey! I'm Charlie. I make games, write code, mess around with music, draw sometimes, and generally have way more ideas than I have time to actually make.
Game development is probably the thing I spend the most time doing. I like taking an idea that exists entirely in my head and slowly turning it into something I can actually walk around in, play, break, fix, and eventually let other people experience. I also just really like programming, even when I spend an hour fixing something that turned out to be one stupid line of code.
I'm not trying to make this website super professional or turn myself into some kind of brand. I'm just a person who likes making stuff, and this is where I put that stuff.
If you've somehow found your way here, hi! :P
What I Make
Most of what I make is games. I especially like making games with exploration, secrets, weird mechanics, stories, and things that reward you for wondering, "Wait, can I actually do that?"
My biggest project right now is Floodgate, my remake/reimagining of PRESSURE made from the ground up in Unity. I've also worked on HTK, Oyasumi, Underscript, and a bunch of smaller experiments and ideas that may or may not ever escape my computer.
I'm also getting into music. Right now I've mostly been remixing existing songs for my games, but I'd eventually love to be able to make an entire original game soundtrack myself.
Basically, if it involves games, programming, music, drawing, writing, or doing something unnecessarily complicated because I thought it would be cool, there's a decent chance I'll try making it.
This Website
I made this website because I don't really like social media.
I still use some social platforms to show people my games, but I don't want an algorithmic feed to be the main home for everything I make. I wanted my own little place where I could post development updates, screenshots, games, music, writing, random thoughts, and whatever else I feel like sharing.
There's no algorithm deciding what you should see here. If I make something and want it on the website, I put it on the website. Old posts can stay here instead of disappearing underneath hundreds of newer ones.
It's basically my own little corner of the internet. Look around, read something, play one of my games, and maybe poke at suspicious things that look clickable.
Why I Make Games
Mostly?
Because I fucking love making games.
I love being able to think of something completely stupid like "What if the player could secretly steal this movement suit and completely destroy the rest of the game's level design?" and then realize that, because I'm the developer, I can just do that.
Games combine basically everything I'm interested in. Programming makes everything function, art gives it an identity, music gives it a feeling, writing gives everything a reason to exist, and level design turns all of that into something another person can actually experience.
It's also incredibly satisfying watching a project slowly become real. A room starts as some boxes, then it gets lighting, mechanics, sounds, details, secrets, and suddenly it's an actual place inside an actual game.
I don't know exactly where game development will take me. I just know I want to keep making things.
Boundaries
I'm happy to talk about my games, programming, art, music, and other things I share here. If you find a bug, have feedback, ect, that's cool!
That doesn't mean everything about my life is public, though. Please don't try to dig up personal information about me, figure out where I live or go to school, track down people I know, or otherwise turn normal curiosity into investigating my private life.
I've made mistakes in the past, and I've learned a lot from them. I'm focused on improving, creating, and moving forward.
Please keep comments focused on my games and creations. Personal matters, old events, or things unrelated to my projects are private, and I appreciate people respecting that boundary.
Basically: be normal.
FAQ
Q - Who are you?
A - I'm Charlie! I make games, code stuff, mess around with music, draw sometimes, and apparently make websites now. Most of what I do eventually ends up somewhere on this site.
-
Q - Is your name really Charlie orr?
A - Nah, that's just the name I use online lol.
-
Q - Why do you make games?
A - Because I genuinely love making them. Game development lets me combine programming, art, music, writing, and a million stupid ideas into one thing somebody else can actually play.
-
Q - What engine do you use?
A - For my 2D projects I use GameMaker Studio 2, and for my 3D projects I use Unity. I've gotten pretty comfortable with both, although which one I use depends entirely on what I'm trying to make.
-
Q - How long have you been making games?
A - About 5 years as of 2026
-
Q - What do you do besides game development?
A - I bike, play games, listen to a LOT of music, draw occasionally, and mess around with whatever else catches my attention. Coding still manages to consume an unreasonable amount of my free time.
-
Q - What kind of music do you like?
A - I really like orchestral music and game soundtracks. I've also started messing around with remixing music myself, and eventually I'd love to be good enough to make complete original OSTs for my games.
-
Q - What's your favorite game?
A - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is definitely up there considering I've somehow put around 700 hours into it. I also really like games that give you movement or systems you can get ridiculously good at.
-
Q - Why don't you use social media much?
A - Because I don't really like it lol. I'd much rather have this website be the actual home for my stuff instead of constantly feeding an algorithm.
-
Q - I found this old drama you were in.
A - Yeah, there's old stuff about me online that I'm not proud of. I've tried to learn from the things I've done, take responsibility where I needed to, and be better going forward, but I'm not interested in turning this website into a place to relitigate old drama. Please don't involve or harass other people over anything connected to me.
-
Q - Can I ask you personal questions?
A - Now wheres the fun in that?
-
Q - Can I contact you?
A - Hell no, respectfully.
-
Q - What do you want to do in the future?
A - Keep making stuff, mostly. I'd love to get much better at programming and music, finish and release more games, and eventually look back at this website and have years of projects sitting here.
-
Q - Why is there so much random shit on this website?
A - Because it's my website and that's half the point. Not everything needs to be professional. sometimes I made something, thought something was funny, or wanted to write about something, so here it is. :P
